Privacy Policy
Last updated: 18 October 2026
This policy explains what information the Church of Christ, Todd's Road website (toddsroadcoctt.org) and its Bible Reader (toddsroadcoctt.org/bible-reader.html) collect, why, and what you can do about it. We are a congregation in Trinidad and we keep this simple: we collect only what the Bible Reader needs to work, and we do not sell or share it for advertising.
What we collect
The church website (home page). The home page does not ask you to sign in and does not collect personal information from you. Our web host may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and troubleshooting.
The Bible Reader, without an account. When you first open the Bible Reader, it creates an anonymous session so that verse highlights can be saved. This is a random identifier with no name or email attached.
The Bible Reader, if you create an account or sign in. If you sign in with email and password, or with Google, we receive and store:
- your email address;
- if you use Google sign-in, the basic profile information Google provides (your name and profile picture), limited to the standard sign-in scopes (OpenID, email and profile); we never receive your Google password;
- your verse highlights and underlines (book, chapter, verse, colour and style) and any tags you add to them, so they follow you between devices.
Stored only on your own device. Your sermon notes, reading history, theme, font and layout preferences, and your sign-in session are saved in your browser's local storage. We do not receive your notes.
How we use it
- to let you sign in and keep your highlights and tags;
- to keep the Bible Reader working and secure;
- to reply if you contact us.
We do not use your information for advertising, we do not run analytics or tracking scripts, and we do not sell your information.
Services that process data for us
- Supabase hosts the sign-in system and the highlights database (in the United States). Highlights are protected so that each signed-in user can read and change only their own.
- Google provides "Sign in with Google" if you choose it, and Google Fonts to display text.
- bolls.life supplies the New King James Version text and some word definitions when you request them; your browser contacts it directly, so it can see your IP address.
- bible.helloao.org supplies some commentaries when you request them, in the same way.
- jsDelivr and CDNFonts deliver software and a reading font to your browser.
- GreenGeeks hosts this website.
Each of these services has its own privacy policy and handles data under its own terms.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and highlights until you ask us to delete them or you delete them yourself. Anonymous sessions with no highlights hold no personal information.
Your choices
- You can use the Bible Reader without signing in.
- You can remove highlights and tags at any time inside the Bible Reader.
- You can ask us to delete your account and all data linked to it, or to send you a copy of it, by emailing coc.toddsroad@gmail.com.
- You can clear your device's notes and preferences by clearing this site's data in your browser.
- If you used Google sign-in, you can also remove this site's access in your Google Account settings under security and connected apps.
Children
The Bible Reader is for general use and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, and highlights are stored with per-user access controls. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the Bible Reader handles information, we will update this page and the date above.
